Our field team welcomed a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Central Emergency Response Fund) on a field visit to project sites implementing livestock livelihood support services, which is being carried out by the National Humanitarian Response and Development Foundation (NAHR) in the districts of Kataf, Al Baq'a, and As Soffrah in Saada Governorate.
During the visit, the delegation listened to a detailed explanation from the project manager about the project's activities, targeting mechanisms, and beneficiary criteria. The delegation also met with a group of beneficiaries and discussed with them the targeting mechanism and what they received in terms of in-kind materials, livestock inputs, and cash assistance.
It is worth noting that the project, funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), targets 1210 families, where each family receives a livestock package that includes 4 sheep, 150 kilograms of concentrated feed, and 15 kilograms of salt blocks, in addition to training and awareness on best livestock practices. Furthermore, 1220 cash grants are distributed to beneficiaries and entrepreneurs, and 10 entrepreneurs are trained in feed manufacturing.
