A Journey of Aspiration and Willpower Creating Hope

Ashwaq Mohammed, a 37-year-old woman from Hawe'a village in the Bani Qaras district of Bani Sa'd directorate, Al-Mahwit governorate, lives with her parents and her three children, whose ages range from two to seven years old.

Ashwaq faces psychological and social difficulties due to her divorce and her sole responsibility for raising her children alone. She also suffers from very difficult living conditions, as she is the sole breadwinner for her family. Her father suffers from a physical illness that prevents him from working outside the home and bearing the burdens of livelihood and family responsibility. The beneficiary owns only one room that shelters her and her entire family, with an external kitchen and bathroom, under harsh living conditions.

Despite these challenges, Ashwaq faced reality with strong willpower and worked to support her family in every way possible. She would travel long distances to far-off areas to collect firewood and sell it in her local area. She managed to save a small amount of money and borrowed an additional sum to buy a few heads of livestock to benefit from their milk and sell its products. In this way, Ashwaq was able to cover the minimum needs of her family.

Driven by the desire to improve her life and find a more stable source of income, Ashwaq enrolled in a sewing training course. She hopes to achieve self-sufficiency and financial independence, and secure a more accessible livelihood for her family. She aspires to establish a small project that would enable her to produce and sell various garments. This would help her provide a stable income, allowing her to improve her family's conditions and support them for a better life.
