UN Coordinator in Yemen Visits Health Facilities in Hodeidah and Hajjah to Review Humanitarian Nutrition Efforts

The UN Coordinator in Yemen, Mr. Julien Harneis, visited several health facilities in Hodeidah and Hajjah governorates, including the Al-Khalil Al-Sharqi Health Unit in Hodeidah, the Al-Maqfa Health Unit, and the Martyr Dr. Yasser Thabet Hospital in Hajjah.

During the visit, progress was reviewed for the project aimed at increasing access to and providing life-saving nutrition services. The project focuses on improving nutrition services for children under five, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers in the most vulnerable areas. It covers the districts of Abs, Qafr Shamar, Kaidina, Mabin, and Khiran Al-Mahraq in Hajjah Governorate, as well as Al-Qanawis, Al-Zuhra, and Al-Hali in Hodeidah Governorate.

Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), the project is being implemented across 15 health facilities in the two governorates, targeting 25,580 beneficiaries, including children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

The project aims to enhance access to essential nutrition services, particularly in underserved areas, contributing to the reduction of malnutrition and the improvement of health conditions for beneficiaries.
